Classical Musicians
Abbey – Clarinet
Abbey is a freelance clarinetist based in Chicago, known for high-ranking performances in competitions, including Carl Maria von Weber’s Concertino with the Waukesha Area Symphonic Band and Michael Daugherty’s Brooklyn Bridge with the Lawrence University Wind Ensemble. She has been a semi-finalist for the Hartford and Arkansas Symphony auditions and has performed with orchestras around Philadelphia, such as the Bucks County and Abington Symphony. Abbey studied under Paul Demers at Temple University (M.M.) and David Bell at Lawrence University (B.M. in clarinet performance), with minors in psychology and woodwind pedagogy.
Amos – Sax
Amos playing has been described as “Liquid” by Newcity magazine and his compositions “Sultry” and “Distinctive” by Fanfare. He has played with many bands and orchestras around the US and abroad. His music has been performed by the International Contemporary Ensemble, Kaia SQ and more.
Brian – Cello
Brian holds a Doctorate in Cello Performance. He has enjoyed many years as a freelance musician in Chicago. He can be heard at chamber events, the symphony, lecture solo recitals, and pop/rock albums.
Cathryn – Violin
Cathryn enjoys an international career as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer. She holds a masters degree from Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, and performs with many orchestras around the Chicago area.
Cameron – Violin / Cello
Cameron holds a PhD in Music in Violin Performance. He plays in small and large jazz ensembles with an emphasis on music of the swing era through bebop. As a performer he has experience in a wide range of repertoires. He has worked as a session musician in pop, rock, and country music with producers like Noah Georgeson (The Strokes) and John Keane (R.E.M.).
Christine – Bassoon
Christine is a passionate performer and educator while chamber music is a pillar of her artistic engagement. Holding a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degree in Bassoon Performance, she performed in several award-winning recordings and premieres, including works by Nkeiru Okoye, Michael Daugherty, and Ryan Lindveit. Dedicated to serving others through the arts, she is an active freelance performer, regularly appearing on both bassoon and contrabassoon with regional symphonies, chamber ensembles, and pit orchestras throughout the midwest.
Claire – Violin
Claire holds degrees in Violin Performance and Music from The Juilliard School and Northwestern’s Bienen School of Music. Since the age of 12, she has played in a variety of ensembles, from small chamber groups to touring orchestras across the U.S, Europe, South America, and Asia.
Daniel – Flute
Daniel He holds a Master’s in Flute Performance from Yale and is a Haynes Young Artist. He discovered his love for the flute as a child and has since won several prestigious competitions. He’s committed to spreading a love for music.
David – Clarinet / Sax / Flute / Oboe
David holds a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance from Western Illinois University, where he studied under Eric Ginsberg and was trained in classical pedagogy and advanced clarinet techniques. He has performed with various ensembles, including the Wheaton Municipal Band and the Chicago Wind Symphony, and was selected to perform at the 2023 International Clarinet Association’s Clarinet Fest.
Darren – Violin / Viola
Hailing from Dallas, TX, Darren Carter is a violinist and violist based in Chicago, IL. He is a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, as well as a substitute with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and New World Symphony. Darren has performed in Carnegie Hall as winner of Baylor University’s Semper Pro Musica competition and participated in festivals such as the Aspen Music Festival, National Repertory Orchestra, Chautauqua Institution, and Round Top Festival Institute.
Emily – Violin
Emily holds her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Violin Performance . She is extremely versed in many styles of music from classical, jazz, strolling, pop, and rock. She has played with many orchestras in the US, festivals, and performed with Jimmy Buffett’s guitarists Peter Mayer and Roger Bartlett. Some of her accolades include multiple recordings, playing for several US Presidents and world leaders, recording endorsements and more.
Emma – French Horn / Brass
Emma holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Horn Performance, studying with some of the best horn musicians / performers in the industry. She has performed extensively in the US and has been involved in various groups and ensembles around the greater Chicago area and the Midwest.
Frances – Cello / Vocal
Frances is a classical cellist and jazz vocalist. She received her Master’s Degree in cello performance and is now freelancing in the Chicago area. She can be heard at weddings, local orchestras, and chamber music performances. Along with her talent as a cellist she also has a love for jazz singing and has collaborated with various jazz bands as a vocal soloist.
Greg – Guitar
Greg holds his Bachelor’s degree in Guitar Performance under the guidance of legendary guitarist Bobby Broom. He has performed for many years in the Chicago area.
Irma – Piano
Irma is a world-class pianist celebrated for her breathtaking performances across Europe and the USA. With a unique blend of precision and emotion, she has captivated audiences at prestigious festivals like the Salzburg Festival and Ruhr Piano Festival. Known for her electrifying performances and diverse repertoire, she effortlessly transitions between solo and chamber music, delivering unforgettable musical experiences worldwide..
Jennifer – Flute
Jennifer holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Flute Performance. She has been praised for her vibrant tone, polished technique, and outstanding musicality across a broad range of styles. She has performed as soloist and as member with orchestras around Chicago, in the US and abroad.
Julia – Violin / Viola
Julia holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Violin Performance. She has been an active violinist/violist in the US with many orchestras, chamber music groups, and on Broadway since 2005.
Kai – Trumpet
Kai holds a Bachelors, Masters and Performance Degrees in Trumpet Performance. He has placed in many competitions around the world and has performed in Asia and US in both Classical and Jazz.
Lisa – Voice
Lisa has sang with opera companies around the US and Europe. As a crossover performer in both opera and musical theatre, Lisa has performed in both operas and musicals, and light jazz.
Maddy – Flute
Maddy holds a Bachelor’s in Flute. She has performed extensively in the Chicago area for several years.
Maggie – Voice
Maggie holds a Bachelor, Master’s, and Performer Diploma in Vocal Performance. Maggie has received many awards around the world and has performed with many groups from opera companies to musicals around the US and Europe.
Mark – Bassoon / Piano
Mark received his Master of Music in Piano and Bassoon Performance from Roosevelt University. Mark has performed bassoon in the Grant Park Symphony, Lake Forest Symphony, Northwest Indiana Symphony, and Northbrook Symphony, and the Southwest Symphony Orchestra, amongst others.
Marley – Violin / Viola
Marley holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Violin Performance. She has performed extensively as a soloist and member of orchestras and professional groups around Chicago and US.
Phoebe – Violin / Viola
Phoebe holds a Masters in Performance. Phoebe enjoys a career as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer. She performs with many orchestras around the Chicago area.
Vincent – Oboe
Vincent holds a Master of Oboe Performance. His approach to music is lighthearted and aims to capture human emotion and beauty in his playing, while maintaining a friendly and engaging demeanor towards audience members. Vincent has performed at countless community events and would love to be a part of any important events to brighten up your evening!
Won – Piano
Won holds Bachelor’s and Master’s in Piano Performance. He has won several international and has performed solo and chamber music on the worlds stage. He is still active in music through chamber music, piano recital, and accompaniment, and plays in a wide range of styles from classical to jazz.
